As you can imagine, a technology company like QS engages in a wide variety of research and development activities, and is constantly inventing new solutions and building products. Some of this work is under contract to a specific firm, and the technology stays with them. In other cases, QS leverages or builds upon a technology base that has been developed internally, or is able to retain license to the tech/product that can be marketed directly by QS or its licensees. QS has technology in every area we are involved in, from robotics to forensics to video analytics to training and simulation and beyond. These technologies, or some derivative thereof, are available for license and inclusion into your product or process.
Can you buy items “off the shelf” or “shrink-wrapped” from QS? Well, it depends on the product or technology. Some products, like the QS Biometrics Database, TRAP, or TDS can be purchased and used with little guidance beyond training. Other technologies, and particularly the ones that are perception algorithm-based, is application dependent; the face tracking algorithm that works outstandingly for broadcast television feeds may not be the one you want to use for your point-of-sale ID application, the video surveillance module intended to track people will not necessarily track vehicles, and so on. We are absolutely committed to customer satisfaction, and thus do not market shrink-wrapped modules without directly engaging the client. This helps to ensure success for all involved.
If your organization has an existing or planned application that could benefit from QS technology, we will work with you to understand the application, and to adapt or hybridize our tech to meet the specific requirements of your application. QS can provide you with a custom SDK to meet your particular needs, thus ensuring optimal performance and satisfaction. UGV Teleoperation Technology
Software codebase infrastructure that enables effective, robust teleoperation of unmanned ground vehicles. The system includes components that run onboard the UGV as well as operator control units (OCUs), and supports teleoperation across a range of vehicle classes (mini, man-transportable, UTV class, larger), operational speeds (from 0 to 80 mph and beyond), radio configurations, and more. Supports wheeled, tracked, and other mobility configurations, and leverages a variety of sensor types and resolutions/update rates. Cutting-edge image processing software that enables real-time roadway perception from forward-looking monocular camera. Robust roadsign tracking, detection, analysis, and identification system that supports symbolic, textual, or mixed signage. ANVEL UGV Simulator
The Autonomous Navigation Vehicle Environment Laboratory, or ANVEL, is a suite of real-time, desktop UGV simulation software. ANVEL can be used to research, develop, test, and evaluate UGV systems and subsystems in a virtual environment, and is being used by dozens of academic, governmental, and industrial organizations worldwide.
